MicroFin Network (TMN) has
been promoted by development
professionals working for poverty alleviation in India. TMN
has emerged from the efforts of supporting and
professionalizing NGOs in development activities
specifically in microfinance and livelihoods.
The vision of TMN is to
“Have a responsible society that works to empower
poor, reduces disparity and creates equal opportunities for
dignified life in less developed regions of India through
sustainable institutions and sustainable use of Human,
Financial and Natural resources.”
TMN would achieve its vision by
promoting microfinance, livelihood finance, livelihood
support and providing institutional development support to
non-government organizations (NGOs), microfinance
institutions (MFIs) and community based organizations (CBOs)
that are committed to the goal of addressing poverty.
TMN has been focusing on
promotion of microfinance in North India by providing
institutional development support, handholding, system
setting, and financing small start up NGOs and MFIs in
microfinance.
Since inception in 2006, TMN
has supported and incubated over 20 organizations in UP,
Bihar, Jharkhand and Rajasthan in microfinance.
The cumulative loans provided
for on-lending to the partner NGO/MFIs is nearly Rs 240
million. This has been leveraged by partners and they
have in turn provided finance of over Rs 600 million.
The cumulative reach of all the
TMN partners is over 120,000 members.
Institutional development for
development intervention in livelihood and microfinance has
emerged as one of the core competencies of TMN.
