Support Services to Partners

 

TMN provides an array of need based  services to partner NGOs/MFIs to improve the quantity and quality of Micro finance activities and achievement of the business plan. Some of the support services provided are :

  • Mentoring support to MFI – providing professional inputs from time to time to further the micro finance operations.
  • Monitoring of accounts and finance – Monitoring of accounts and finance is a single most important thing for the success of micro finance. TMN provides monthly feedback on the accounting and finance operations of the Partner.
  • Internal audit functions – Internal audit is an essential condition for healthy growth of micro finance operations. Internal audit is carried out by TMN once a quarter. The Internal Audit report is provided to the Partner Management and Board. The report provides suggestions for bettering the operations and areas of improvement.
  • Software support – TMN source/develop software for use by the Partners for micro finance operations. The software provided is a twin pack of accounts and MIS. The software along with its upgrades and customizations is provided to the Partners during the period of agreement. The Partners are required to send their MF data periodically, at least once a week, in the software format, so that it is available with TMN in time for analysis and feedback.
  • Human resource development – Getting the human resources and upgrading them continuously according to the changes in the sector is a problem. TMN in consultation with the Partners has developed a human resource development programme and support the partner in developing in-house initiatives or provide it externally.
  • Support in raising resources – Micro finance requires continuous resources for growth. This is a constant task for the MFI leader. However, since most are located in remote areas it is not always very easy to negotiate and get the resources in time. TMN networks with resource providers and help the partners in raising resources and during negotiations.
  • Support during credit rating – External credit rating is a must for providing comfort to agency that may lend. This is a rigorous exercise. TMN provides support during any such rating exercise, if required.
  • Reporting to donors and funders – if required TMN provides support in reporting to donors and funders.
  • Product development – New product development should be a constant endeavor of the MFI to cater to new clients and needs/requirement. This exercise is undertaken periodically in consultation with the Partner. Based on the research new products are designed.
  • Introduce best practices –Efforts are made by TMN to introduce best practices though environment scanning and innovation.
  • Introduce new technologies – It is expected that the micro finance would be led by technology in future. Efforts are made by TMN to introduce appropriate technology for the partner.
  • Website development and hosting for partners in Diamond and Platinum category.
